What is Aqualise?

The artist "Aqualise", the label "Aqualise Music" and the brand.

• Aqualise is unique! It is an artist project, a brand and a media group, created by composer and producer, Nicolas Bulostin. Aqualise Music is the first record label in the world dedicated to protecting the oceans by creating awareness and by donating to non-profit marine wildlife conservation and environmental organizations. Nicolas began this project in 2007 because he wanted to combine his two passions – music and the sea. Aqualise has created the "Music of the Sea", and hopes to spread awareness through music, videos and films. .

• Aqualise Music: a new way to purchase music but also to act responsibly for the benefit of future generations and protect the oceans!

• Buy music and other products from us and give to the charities you care about: with every purchase, you are contributing financially towards non-profit organisations that are dedicated to safeguarding our seas and the life within them. A minimum of 20% of profit per item sold will be donated by Aqualise.

• Cutting down the high distribution costs: if you buy your music directly from our store at www.aqualise.com, you will be contributing more to the non-profit organisations than if you buy via the popular download platforms. There are very high administration costs associated with selling music via these platforms (40% or more including agents fees), but we want to give as much as possible to help the oceans. Initially we will be releasing the following products:

-Aqualise albums.
-compilations with an ocean theme, featuring a variety of established artists and musicians.
-singles.

• Our albums and compilations are sold as a bundle only on our website www.aqualise.com. An album is a story, music is the journey, and the artist has a message. The message is lost when only one part of the story is heard. Enjoy a real journey through our waves. Just play one of our albums or compilations, let it run all way through, and chill and relax with us! Some singles will be available from our MP3 download shop.

• Since June 2008 a selection of Aqualise tracks have been licensed to more than 50 compilations worldwide and are available on iTunes, Beatport etc. Every year, Aqualise will licence a limited number of tracks that will be sold by other record labels via the main download platforms. 20% of our profit from these sales will still go to non profit organisations.

• Green: our products will contain NO plastic! We will use recycled paper too. Our first releases will be via download, but from 2010 we will also sell DVDs and CDs.

• We are collaborating with partners, brands, filmmakers, photographers and artists from all over the world in our quest to spread awareness.

• Press/media: help us spread the word! Highlight our work, support our efforts, our ethos and hopes for the future. We are aiming to raise as much money as possible in order to assist the non profit organisations we are supporting. They are doing fantastic work on behalf of us all and we are proud to help them. Please work with us on PR and marketing opportunities.

• New products will be available in 2010 including mobile technology, ringtones, applications for iphone and other networks, video sales, games, merchandising and more. Stay tuned!

• Piracy is a major problem. It is destroying the music and film industries, and the livelihoods of people that work in them. In order for us all to be able to have access to new music and films in the future, and to encourage talented individuals to enter the music and film industries, we have to fight against piracy by refusing to download or make illegal copies.
